The Role

We are hiring a full-time, well-rounded, dependable carpenter with experience in a wide range of carpentry and finishing techniques. The ideal candidate will be capable of performing tasks such as framing, drywall installation, mudding and taping, installing windows and doors, building steps and decks, and completing door and cabinet adjustments, along with other aspects of finish carpentry.

We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, pays close attention to detail, and consistently delivers high-quality results. A strong understanding of safety practices and the ability to work efficiently are essential.

This role involves working across a variety of projects, including residential, commercial, service, and renovation/restoration work.

What you'll bring

All applicants must have a valid driver’s license; proof of a valid driver’s license will be required. A company vehicle may be provided for travel to job sites.
All applicants must demonstrate effective communication skills between clients and staff, as well as the ability to follow directions. The ability to respectfully communicate with our customers is crucial and should always be upheld.
Chosen applicants must be open to performing a variety of carpentry tasks and have experience in all aspects of carpentry.
Applicants must have a positive attitude, good work ethic, take pride in their work, and work well alone or as part of a team.
Carpentry skills, including framing, drywall, mudding, and finish carpentry
Ability to install doors & windows, structures & fixtures
Proficiency in using power tools and hand tools
Experience using various construction materials and techniques
Can take measurements and calculate the size and amount of material needed.
Ability to understand plans, work orders, and interpret different tasks
Attention to detail, craftsmanship and quality of work
Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
Ability to work independently and within a team
Physical stamina, ability to lift heavy objects and transport/move materials when needed
Excellent communication skills
Good understanding of basic math.
High school diploma or equivalent
Reside locally in Nova Scotia
